Arizona State University (ASU) is located in the city of Tempe, southeast of Phoenix in what is known as the Valley of the Sun (there are more than 290 days annually of sunshine!). It is the third largest public university in the United States. There are approximately 49,700 full and part-time students that attend the main campus as well as three satellite campuses in the Phoenix metropolitan area (see map).

ASU is ranked among the nation's 88 leading research universities by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. In 1998, NASA chose ASU to be part of the space agency's virtual Astrobiology Institute. ASU is also a Research I Institution and part of the Pacific-10. To learn more about ASU follow this link.
